Respiratory Therapist (Day Shift) - Respiratory Therapy
Position Purpose and Scope of Responsibility:
Position is responsible for setting up and operating various types of respiratory care equipment and performing or assisting with procedures utilized in the diagnosis or treatment of cardiopulmonary disease or illness.
Demonstrates advanced skills and serves as mentor/preceptor.
This position is under the general direction of the manager. Position is responsible for various shifts and may be subject to hours over 40 per week and call back as appropriate.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Desired Qualifications
Knowledge/Education Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapist Program
Highly developed skill set that includes demonstrated critical thinking and analytical abilities
Consistently demonstrated high level of performance related to core values Associate degree or BS degree in Respiratory Science
Licensure, Registration, Certification Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
Licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy
Current BLS certification
Must hold one of the following advanced certifications:
Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS), Asthma Educator (AE-C), Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT), or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
All other duties/skills and qualifications will be discussed at time of interview.
